A wardrobe turned shoe closet

Today I share a transformation of a piece of furniture, it was a child's wardrobe whose destination was the garbage and which is now used to store shoes at the entrance of my house, looking at the before and after photos its hard to say that it's the same piece of furniture.

A friend was emptying the family house to put it up for sale and wanted to get rid of his son's furniture, it was a wardrobe and a bookcase in pine wood, it was quite discolored by the sun, but to transform it the important thing was that it was in good condition and it was.

My idea was to put it bellow the stairwell in the entrance of my house to store the shoes, as the pot where I wanted it was lower than the wardrobe it was necessary to cut it to fit in the place, and because I didn't really need the bookcase but it had drawers like the ones from the wardrobe I decided to use them in the wardrobe, going from three drawers to five, then it was just a matter of checking the measurements and cutting the sides, the back and the doors.

Because it was no longer necessary, I removed the rod and placed two shelves inside the doors that I removed from the bookcase to accommodate the shoeboxes.

I decided to cover the front with the rest of a roll of wallpaper I had left over from another project and painted the outside of the wardrobe with a paint that matches the paper.

I ended up putting in some new handles and so I was left with a unique piece of furniture, with a lot of storage and at a negligible cost because the only thing I had to buy was a small paint can and the handles.

And as there was still paint and wallpaper left over, I even made a tray and a hanger to put in the entrance.

And if you are wandering what happened to the rest of the bookcase, since I only used two drawers and two shelf’s, you will have to wait to see, just know that I used it all.
